Academics

The Mathematics Department of Immaculata-La Salle High School attempts to meet the needs of the individual student at his or her own level. It challenges the above average student and encourages the further pursuit of mathematics while it meets the needs of the average student to develop necessary skills.

There is a requirement of 4 credit years of Mathematics at Immaculata-La Salle, and all students must complete coursework through Algebra II. Teachers work with and implement the Common Core standards in their classrooms. The Mathematics Department has adopted e-texts for Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Math for College Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus. In addition, students work with online platforms, such as IXL, Wayground, Khan Academy, and AP Classroom to complete homework assignments.

 

Mu Alpha Theta is the Math Honor Society

at ILS. Members of this honor society offer

tutoring to others who are struggling in

mathematics. They are also involved in math

competitions throughout the year.

3.7 GPA

Maintains an A- average in Math

3 consecutive semesters of honors Math

Geometry Honors Completed

9th grade – PSAT/Pre-ACT

10th grade – PSAT/Pre-ACT

11th grade – PSAT/ACT

12th grade – SAT/ACT

 

Teachers work with students daily to help prepare them for the standardized tests that they need to take at each level in their high school career.
