Building on the Legacy
Dear Alumni and ILS Friends,
Whether you consider yourself an Immaculata Royal, a La Salle Royal or an Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lion, you are a part of an amazing legacy that belongs only to us!
I recently read an article written by social researcher and educator, Susan V. Bosak, reflecting on “how a ‘legacy’ is about life and living, about learning from the past, living in the present, and building on the future. She explains how ‘legacy’ is fundamental to what it is to be human...that without a sense of working to create a legacy, adults lose meaning in their life. The idea of legacy offers a glimpse not only into human relationships and building strong communities, but also the human spirit.”
At ILS, we are privileged to continue building on the foundation of a legacy, you, our Alumni and friends, have created for our students to follow for over 60 years. It is a legacy that encourages confidence, creates an atmosphere of trust and love, opens to dialogue, promotes a love for knowledge, academic excellence and lifelong learning, witnesses to a joyful response to faith and empowers our young people to become agents of peace.
At this moment in time, we are at a crossroad with our Athletic and STEAM programs. We need to expand our facilities in order to match the level of excellence we have established in our classrooms.
With much trust and confidence in your support and generosity, we continue ‘Building on the Legacy’ as a sign of our commitment to always be a presence in Miami with the same passion which has woven a living legacy and a fruitful educational commitment to form good Christians and honest citizens.
Thank you for all you have done and for all you continue to do for the Immaculata-La Salle Family...Go Royals!
